I read your words—the tears just come
I stare at the page, my body is numb

I feel your pain like it was my own
My heart sank in my stomach like a stone

I’m wishing I could span the miles
To wipe your tears and bring you smiles

I’d hold you close and hug you tight
Making promises that all will be right

Our friendship’s so important to me
